THE PATTERN PROJECT
One horse. One recurring pattern. Three focused weeks in hand.
I am selecting one horse for a documented three week in-hand training case study at Nayera Farm.
The Pattern Project will follow one clear and repeatable training pattern from the horse's initial assessment through an individual in-hand program and into the final comparison.
I am looking for a horse with established everyday handling, but with something consistent that continues to appear in its work. This may include one direction feeling noticeably different, difficulty maintaining straightness or alignment, shoulders or hindquarters that are difficult to organise, limited coordination or body awareness, balance changing through turns or transitions, unclear or inconsistent responses, or little previous structured in-hand education.
The horse does not need to fit every example. I am looking for one identifiable pattern that can be assessed and followed throughout the case study.
PREFERRED CASE-STUDY PERIOD
Preferred arrival: Sunday 9 August 2026. Preferred training block: 10-31 August 2026. Limited flexibility around the commencement date may be considered for the right horse, but the horse must stay for one complete, uninterrupted three-week period.
COSTS
The professional training fee will be waived. Agistment and standard feeding are $130 per week, totalling $390 for the three-week stay. Delivery, collection, special feed, supplements, medication, farrier, veterinary care and other individual expenses remain the owner’s responsibility.
IMPORTANT
This project is designed to focus on the development of the in-hand work. It is not intended for breaking-in, behavioural rehabilitation or veterinary rehabilitation. The horse should have established everyday handling and normally be able to be caught, led, tied, groomed and worked in an enclosed area.
